Music for Fathers: God Will Lift Up Your Head by Jars of Clay

God Will Lift Up Your Head by Jars of Clay

I’ve been rather down lately, mainly because I’ve let myself down.   I intended to be so so active but things happen, no matter why you’re feeling down or beating yourself up, just remember that God will lift up your head, strong is His hand, and there is nothing that you can’t do through Him.

Music for Fathers: "Alligator Sky" by Owl City

Eulogy

"Eulogy" by Five Iron Frenzy
A topic that's been on my mind for a while now is this concept of "dying to ourselves" that Paul wrote about often and what Jesus eluded to numerous times throughout the gospels.  On top of that, with me finally getting to watch Courageous what does "dying to ourselves" mean as fathers?

Spare the Rod, Spare the Child?

A sensitive subject for most parents in this "politically correct" age is how do we punish our children?  Children, though sweet and precious, seem to be inherently disobedient.  I mean, you don't have to teach your child to hit or not clean their room, right?

Attempting to be Courageous

In my up-teen years with an online presence, I've struggled with trying to find meaning. What can I offer the world that could make the ideas I have more inspiring, more thought provoking (more funny?). Fast forward to now, where I am happily married and have three wonderful children who bless my life with every breath they take. My wife, Krista, got me the book The Resolution for Men, based off of the movie, Courageous. All about being the man God's called us to be when we're fathers, when we're husbands, when we're awake, when we're sick, when we're scared, you get the idea. Needless to say this book has challenged and inspired me to be not just a better man, but a man that my wife and children will remember as a courageous man who stood for God.
